BBPCU (Central Unit) \u2013<\/strong> Managed by NPCI; handles system operations and guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BBPOUs (Operating Units) \u2013<\/strong> Licensed banks and non-bank constituents rendering payment facilitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BOUs (Biller Operating Units) \u2013<\/strong> Onboarding and servicing biller units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

COUs (Customer Operating Units) \u2013 End-user access point units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Major Milestones of <\/strong>Bharat Connect<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

2013:<\/strong> The Reserve Bank of India created a vision document involving the idea of BBPS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2016:<\/strong> BBPS was officially launched with the aim to allow people to pay utility bills like electricity, phone, gas, water, and DTH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2019: <\/strong>Allotted permission to fintech companies and other non-banking platforms to offer BBPS services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2020\u20132023:<\/strong> BBPS expanded its services to include insurance premium, FASTag recharge, credit card bills, and education fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2023:<\/strong> Better features like an easier interface, QR code support, and a flawless way to solve issues has been introduced with BBPS 2.0. This has brought a drastic change for the smaller towns (Tier II and Tier III cities).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2024:<\/strong> According to NPCI, BBPS handled over 102 million transactions in a single month, worth more than \u20b917,000 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
